8. Outline of the project:
As the Vietnamese government has shifted from a planned economy to a socialist-oriented market-based economy, reformation of tax administration system has been urged to adapt them to the socialist-oriented market-based economy and secure tax revenue. This Project, through various programs, e.g. the seminars, the workshops, the study tours, the training course in Japan so on, aims to enhance capabilities required of GDT and the regional tax officers in three areas, on which the country’s 10-year Strategic Plan for Tax Administration Reform has focused, namely, taxpayer services, tax audit and staff training. As the outcome of this project, the departments concerned with the three areas are expected to be equipped with updated knowledge including international practices on Tax Administration.
